Google's empire keeps growing. The Web search giant announced this week that it will begin selling ads on U.S. television networks owned by NBC Universal.
The deal has NBC Universal making ad time available for sale through Google's TV Ads program, and the partnership could spread to other TV properties. The deal suggests that large media companies, which have regarded Google with suspicion, may now be more willing to work with it, the New York Times reports.
In the U.S., Google faces increasing competition from cable providers, which have teamed to develop their own system to place ads on TV."
